Sampler

In olden times, back when pioneers were settling the prairie (and gender roles were more strictly adhered to), little girls learned to quilt, embroider, or cross-stitch by making samplers, which were smaller pieces of work that contained different quilt block patterns or different kinds of stitching. The idea was to learn by doing.

Here’s a sampler of short pieces and excerpts from longer work that are littering my desk. Bon appetite.
